Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,460m)
Driving time: 7–8 hours
The journey begins from Kathmandu, heading north through scenic hills, rivers, and traditional villages. The road follows the Trishuli River before entering the Langtang region.
Syabrubesi is the gateway to the Langtang Valley trek.
Overnight: Syabrubesi
Highlights: Riverside drive, mountain landscapes, rural Nepal experience
Day 2: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m)
Trekking time: 6–7 hours
Today is the first trekking day. The trail passes through dense forests, suspension bridges, waterfalls, and small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche.
The walk follows the Langtang River inside a peaceful forest environment.
Overnight: Lama Hotel
Highlights: Forest trails, river valleys, wildlife sightings
Day 3: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m)
Trekking time: 6–7 hours
The trail climbs steadily into alpine terrain. Forests begin to thin and mountain views become more dramatic.
After passing Ghoda Tabela, you enter the wide Langtang Valley and reach Langtang Village, a rebuilt settlement rich in Tamang culture.
Overnight: Langtang Village

Day 4: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)
Trekking time: 3–4 hours
A short scenic walk leads to Kyanjin Gompa, a peaceful mountain settlement surrounded by glaciers and snow peaks.
This area is famous for its monastery and traditional yak cheese production.
Overnight: Kyanjin Gompa
Highlights: Buddhist monastery, glacier views, yak pasturelands
Day 5: Acclimatization Day – Kyanjin Ri / Tserko Ri Hike
Hiking time: 4–7 hours (optional)
This is an important acclimatization and exploration day. You can hike to:
- Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) – moderate viewpoint
- Tserko Ri (4,984m) – challenging but panoramic summit
From the top, enjoy breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and surrounding peaks.
Overnight: Kyanjin Gompa
Highlights: Himalayan panorama, glaciers, high-altitude adventure
Day 6: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2,470m)
Trekking time: 6–7 hours
After sunrise views at Kyanjin Gompa, you descend back through Langtang Village and forest trails to Lama Hotel.
The return journey offers a completely different perspective of the valley.
Overnight: Lama Hotel
Highlights: Scenic descent, forest walk, river valleys
Day 7: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi → Drive to Kathmandu
Trekking time: 5–6 hours
Drive time: 7–8 hours
The final trekking day leads back to Syabrubesi through forest trails and suspension bridges.
After lunch, drive back to Kathmandu, ending your Langtang adventure.
