About Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking

This 18-day Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek is a truly remote and culturally rich Himalayan journey in Nepal, carefully organized by Nepal Tour & Treks P. Ltd., designed for trekkers who want both high-altitude adventure and deep cultural exploration in one combined route. The trek connects two of Nepal’s most unique regions—the hidden Tsum Valley, known as the “Valley of Happiness,” and the famous Manaslu Circuit, which circles Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world.

The journey begins from Kathmandu and gradually moves into the quieter Himalayan countryside. As arranged by Nepal Tour & Treks P. Ltd., the route smoothly transitions from city life into peaceful rural landscapes, passing through river valleys, terraced farmlands, green hills, and traditional mountain villages. The early trekking days follow the Budhi Gandaki River, where suspension bridges, waterfalls, and stone staircases create a dramatic and adventurous introduction to the trek.

A major highlight of this itinerary is the exploration of Tsum Valley, a sacred and hidden Buddhist region close to the Tibetan border. This valley is deeply spiritual and culturally preserved, where ancient monasteries, prayer wheels, mani walls, and colorful prayer flags are part of daily life. Villages here feel untouched by modern development, offering a rare experience of traditional Himalayan living. One of the most important highlights is Mu Gompa, a high-altitude monastery surrounded by mountains, offering peaceful meditation spaces and stunning views.

After exploring Tsum Valley, the trek reconnects with the main Manaslu Circuit trail. From here, the scenery gradually becomes more dramatic and alpine. The route passes through beautiful villages such as Deng, Namrung, Lho, and Samagaun, where trekkers can experience strong Tibetan-influenced culture, stone-built houses, ancient monasteries, and breathtaking views of Mount Manaslu and surrounding peaks. These villages also provide comfortable tea house accommodation and warm local hospitality arranged along the route by Nepal Tour & Treks P. Ltd.

As altitude increases, the landscape becomes more rugged and powerful. Dense forests slowly disappear, replaced by rocky terrain, glaciers, and wide open valleys. Proper acclimatization days are included in the itinerary to ensure safety and comfort, allowing trekkers to explore nearby viewpoints, glaciers, and monasteries while adapting to the altitude.

The most challenging and rewarding section of the trek is crossing the Larke La Pass (5,160m). This high mountain pass requires an early start and steady climbing through cold, thin air. From the top, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of Himalayan giants covered in snow and ice. After crossing the pass, the trail descends into the beautiful valley of Bimthang, where the environment becomes greener, softer, and more peaceful again.

From Bimthang, the trek continues down through forests, rivers, and traditional villages until reaching Dharapani. Finally, a scenic drive arranged by Nepal Tour & Treks P. Ltd. takes you back to Kathmandu, passing through hills, rivers, and rural settlements, completing the full Himalayan circuit.

Overall, this trek is ideal for adventure seekers who want a mix of remote wilderness, rich Buddhist culture, dramatic mountain landscapes, and a physically challenging high-altitude journey. Organized professionally by Nepal Tour & Treks P. Ltd., it ensures safety, proper acclimatization, experienced guidance, and an unforgettable Himalayan experience that stays with you for a lifetime
