About Manaslu Circuit Trekking

Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most remarkable and rewarding trekking adventures, offering an extraordinary journey through remote Himalayan landscapes, traditional mountain villages, and rich Tibetan Buddhist culture. Circling the majestic Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the world’s eighth-highest peak, this trek provides a perfect combination of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and thrilling high-altitude adventure.

Unlike the more crowded trekking regions of Nepal, the Manaslu Circuit remains a pristine and less-traveled destination, allowing trekkers to experience authentic Himalayan life in its purest form. The trail follows the spectacular Budhi Gandaki River Valley, passing through lush subtropical forests, terraced farmlands, deep river gorges, alpine meadows, glacial moraines, and high mountain deserts. Along the way, trekkers encounter ancient monasteries, colorful prayer flags, mani walls, and centuries-old villages where Tibetan traditions continue to thrive.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola before gradually ascending through picturesque villages such as Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Lho, Samagaun, and Samdo. As the trail climbs higher into the Himalayas, breathtaking views unfold of Mount Manaslu and neighboring peaks, including Himal Chuli, Ngadi Chuli, and Ganesh Himal.

One of the trek’s major highlights is the acclimatization stay in Samagaun, where trekkers can explore the beautiful Birendra Lake, visit the historic Pungyen Gompa, or undertake an optional hike to Manaslu Base Camp for close-up views of glaciers and towering ice-covered peaks. Another acclimatization day in Samdo provides opportunities to explore high-altitude viewpoints overlooking the Tibetan border and surrounding Himalayan ranges.

The ultimate challenge and reward of the trek comes with crossing the spectacular Larke La Pass (5,160m), one of the longest and most dramatic mountain passes in Nepal. From the summit, trekkers are rewarded with unforgettable panoramic views of snow-covered mountains, glaciers, and vast alpine landscapes stretching across the Himalayas. The descent into Bimthang reveals a completely different environment of glacial valleys, forests, and beautiful mountain scenery before joining the Annapurna region at Dharapani.

Organized by Nepal Tour & Treks Pvt. Ltd., the Manaslu Circuit Trek is carefully designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching trekking experience. Our experienced local guides, professional support team, and well-planned itineraries ensure that trekkers can fully enjoy the adventure while gaining valuable insights into the culture, history, and natural beauty of the region. We prioritize responsible tourism, personalized service, and authentic local experiences, making every journey memorable and rewarding.

Whether you are seeking a challenging Himalayan crossing, breathtaking mountain scenery, cultural exploration, or an alternative to Nepal’s more crowded trekking routes, the Manaslu Circuit Trek offers an unforgettable adventure through one of the most beautiful and untouched regions of the Himalayas. With its dramatic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and world-class trekking trails, this journey stands as one of Nepal’s finest trekking experiences and a true highlight for any mountain enthusiast visiting the Himalayas.
