Detailed Trek Route
The Gokyo Lake Trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla, the trail follows the classic Everest route through Phakding and Namche Bazaar, the main Sherpa trading hub.
After acclimatization in Namche, the trail diverts from the main Everest Base Camp route toward Dole and Machhermo, entering a quieter and more peaceful alpine valley.
As the trail climbs higher, trekkers reach the beautiful Gokyo Valley, home to a series of stunning turquoise lakes surrounded by glaciers and snow-covered peaks.
The highlight of the trek is the ascent to Gokyo Ri, which offers one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the entire Himalayas.
After exploring the lakes and viewpoint, the return journey follows the same route back to Lukla.
