Hidden Himalayan Kingdom of Nar & Phu, Nepal
The Nar Phu Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most remote and culturally rich trekking adventures. Opened to foreign trekkers only in 2003, this hidden valley lies north of the Annapurna region near the Tibetan border and offers an extraordinary journey through untouched landscapes, ancient Buddhist culture, medieval stone villages, and dramatic Himalayan scenery.
The trek takes you deep into the secluded villages of Nar and Phu, where traditional Tibetan lifestyles have remained unchanged for centuries. Along the way, you’ll cross the spectacular Kang La Pass (5,320m) and enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and the Chulu Himal range.
Unlike the more popular trekking routes in Nepal, Nar Phu Valley offers solitude, authentic cultural experiences, and a true wilderness adventure.
