Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha. The road gradually climbs through hills, rivers, and rural settlements, offering beautiful views of terraced fields, green valleys, and distant Himalayan peaks on clear days.

As you leave the capital, the busy city life slowly fades into peaceful countryside. Small villages, roadside markets, and winding mountain roads define today’s journey.

Charikot is a peaceful hill town with pleasant weather and views of Gaurishankar Himal on clear days. This is your first overnight stop before heading deeper into the Rolwaling region.

After breakfast, you continue the drive toward the trekking starting point, either Jagat or Simigaon depending on road conditions. The route becomes more rugged and adventurous, passing through steep hills and remote villages.

From here, your trekking journey begins. The trail ascends gradually through traditional settlements, forests, and terraced farmland. You will pass stone houses, prayer flags, and Buddhist shrines along the way.

Simigaon is a beautiful Sherpa village with panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere, marking the beginning of the Rolwaling Valley trek.

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the forested landscapes of Rolwaling Valley. The trail descends and ascends through dense forests filled with rhododendron, pine, and oak trees.

You will cross suspension bridges over rushing rivers and pass small resting points along the way. The trail is peaceful and less crowded, offering a true wilderness trekking experience.

Dongang is a quiet riverside settlement surrounded by thick forest and natural beauty, perfect for overnight rest.

The trail becomes more challenging today as you gain altitude steadily. The valley narrows, and the landscape becomes more dramatic with waterfalls, rocky cliffs, and alpine scenery.

As you approach Beding, you begin to see strong Tibetan Buddhist cultural influence. Prayer flags, mani walls, and chortens appear along the trail.

Beding is the largest settlement in Rolwaling Valley, inhabited mainly by Sherpa communities. Surrounded by towering mountains, it offers breathtaking views and deep cultural experience.

This important rest day helps your body adjust to higher altitude before moving further up the valley.

This is also a great opportunity to experience traditional Himalayan lifestyle, monasteries, and spiritual practices.

The trail from Beding to Na Village is short but scenic, passing through high alpine terrain and open landscapes. As you ascend, vegetation becomes sparse and the valley opens widely.

Na Village is located at the foot of glaciers and surrounded by massive peaks. It serves as the base camp for excursions toward Tsho Rolpa Lake.

The area is extremely peaceful and remote, offering a true high-Himalayan wilderness experience.

Today is one of the highlights of the entire trek. You hike toward Tsho Rolpa Lake (4,580m), one of the largest glacial lakes in Nepal, fed by the Rolwaling Glacier.

The trail is rocky and dramatic, with glacier views, ice formations, and alpine landscapes. As you approach the lake, the turquoise-blue water surrounded by snow peaks creates a breathtaking scene.

After spending time at the lake enjoying the scenery and photography, you return back to Na Village for overnight stay.

Today’s trek brings you closer to lower altitude villages. The trail is long but enjoyable, passing through forests and traditional settlements.

You continue descending through forests and rural landscapes. The trail is easier today, allowing a relaxed walking pace.

After breakfast, you take a local drive back to Charikot. The journey follows rough mountain roads with scenic countryside views.
